Domtar Power Recovery Boiler Chemical Treatment

TESC was engaged by LCI Engineering to execute the work required for the Power and Recovery Boiler Chemical Treatment and Water Treatment Piping Systems at Domtar’s pulp and paper mill in Espanola, Ontario. This project involved lined/chemical piping as well as acid piping renovations.

TESC was responsible for the supply and installation of No. 9 & No. 3 boiler chemical/acid cleaning piping system to TSSA B31.3 Quality Standards. The team also performed the supply and installation of boiler treatment piping. The system installed deionized the water supply for clean operation of the power boiler. This work also included the final connections to mobile treatment units and effective commissioning of the system that was performed in conjunction with Domtar.

The project required approximately 7000 man hours with 16 workers. It was successfully completed on schedule, within the original scope budget, and without injuries.
